Hey beauties! Want to know how to lose a double chin? Let’s face it (no pun intended!): none of us likes to have that extra roll of softness poking out when we smile, laugh, or look down! Ever opened up front cam on accident? Absolutely horrifying! 😛 Maybe you would like to lose weight in general to reduce the appearance of a double chin, or maybe you only have one occasionally. Of course, if a little extra weight is the main issue here, we unfortunately cannot target areas for weight loss; weight loss is spread across our bodies evenly! However, if your weight is normal and your main problem area is that pesky soft chin, I’ve got you covered!
What are the main causes of a double chin?
Double chins can be caused by excess fat on the body, by facial structure, or by bloating, indigestion, or diet. If you have excess fat, simply making healthful choices in your foods and getting exercise five times per week can help to slim your body, including your double chin! The more you lose, the more your double chin will diminish. Hooray!
Facial structure can also cause the appearance of a double chin! Some people have long, angular faces, or super squared jaws. These facial structures typically do not have as much of a problem with double chins showing up as others, including facial structures like round or heart-shaped. As a person with a rounder face shape, I’m right there with those of you who want to know how to lose a double chin! These next tips are things that I can personally testify to that work for me, and reduce or eliminate my double chin when it appears. Let’s get started!!
How to Lose a Double Chin
First step, flush out those toxins!!
Often times, the appearance of a double chin means your body is retaining fluids, and may not be properly cleansing itself of toxins. I do NOT recommend going on a crazy detox diet or trying detox pills or supplements! Instead, try incorporating these few simple tips into your regimen:
Drinking warm or room temperature lemon water before you have breakfast is a great way to flush out toxins and get your digestive system jump started for the day. Ever drunk a large glass of lemonade, and immediately had to pee? There’s science behind it! Lemons are a natural diuretic! That means they will cause your body to push fluids through, taking excess bloat and toxins with it. Win-win!
Get your sweat on to rid your body of toxins through your pores! Your sweat glands will kick into overdrive to cleanse your systems and push toxins out. When you sweat, you reduce your storage of excess water, causing your bloating due to water retention to diminish significantly! Try a spin class, a boxing class, your favorite sport, hot yoga, or some simple cardio and weightlifting at the gym to work up a good sweat. Anything that gets you moving and gets the sweat pouring will lessen your water weight and reduce your double chin! If you don’t feel like exercising, hopping into a wet or dry sauna will do the trick; however exercise is very important for the body and maintaining a healthy weight as well, so don’t skip out every time!
Drinking coconut water is a great way to hydrate the body, get in some crucial electrolytes, and de-bloat the body and face! The potassium in coconut water helps to lessen bloat, and the extra fluids will help push through even more toxins.
Chia seeds are always a go-to for me when I’m feeling bloated! Chia seeds are good antioxidants, which means they will assist the body in eliminating toxins. As we now know, toxicity plays a large roll in the formation of double chins! Chia seeds are also a rich source of fiber, which helps you to remain, ahem, regular. Maintaining healthy digestion and regular elimination is also a major part of keeping your body free of excessive bloating, including your chin area. You can eat chia seeds many ways, but I am going to share with you guys my number one bloat-busting recipe that slims my face and body within a few hours. It’s definitely a secret weapon you will want to add to your arsenal!
SECRET WEAPON: MY ULTIMATE BLOAT-BUSTING BEVERAGE!!!
This recipe includes several of our listed items, all combined into one power-packed double chin eliminating shot. Ready to reduce your double chin in minutes? You will need:
- 1 scoop of your favorite greens powder, such as Amazing Grass Chocolate Superfood powder.
- 4 ounces of chilled coconut water. Look for a brand with no added sugar! Try to find a coconut water with “organic coconut water” listed as the only ingredient. They can be sneaky, so look closely!
- 1 Tbs chia seeds.
HOW TO MAKE:
Take a small glass, and pour in your organic coconut water. Next, add a scoop of your greens superfood powder. More greens equals more antioxidants, which means more detoxifying benefits for you body!
Mix the two together until smooth. If your powder does not dissolve well, you may want to try mixing the powder with just a bit of room temperature water first, creating a paste before adding in the coconut water.
Then, add in your tablespoon of organic chia seeds. If you wish, you can let them gel by leaving them in the liquid for a while, allowing them to become soft and more easily absorbed and digested by your body.
