Hey guys, I wanted to give you my personal review of my experience with photofacial technology. Are you ready to get that fresh and flawless, soft as a baby’s, perfect skin? A face so beautifully smooth in color and texture that you really could go with no makeup? A face so free of discolorations, that your makeup application takes half the time?
Come on, fellow beach babes! We love that fresh makeup, just out of the surf look, with no makeup and beautiful natural waves in our perfectly salt water damp, wind tousled hair. Yep! That brings up visions of many commercials we have all seen. More on that another day! 🙂
The only down side of the outdoor life is those little dark spots and discolorations that can come from days in the sun. Even with ardent sun screen application, those rays can still cause havoc on our exposed skin. Over time, melanin can begin to over-produce and show up as unwanted dark spots. Conditions such as rosacea can also be worsened by sun time, giving us unsightly red areas that usually require a good amount of concealer.
I know that after a vacation to the beach, which my favorite place in the world, I always experience a flare up of the rosacea around my nose area. Really, that is not my favorite look, unless I’m dressing up like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! Though I could be a walking advertisement for the world’s best concealer, I would really rather have that perfectly normal skin color that can be achieved with the awesome photofacial technology.
Maybe Kandee could do a transformation into Rudolph for us haha. Speaking of Kandee, I heard her say that she had tried the photofacial and loved how it made her “look like a baby.” 🙂 She is planning to give us all her own photofacial technology review, because she loves her results so much! That makes me want to try another one for sure! She has the most beautiful skin!
Though I could be a walking advertisement for the world’s best concealer when those flare- ups come, I would really rather have that perfectly normal skin color that can be achieved with the awesome photofacial. Though I really love dolling up as much as any other girl, my day to day life requires a quick and easy beauty routine, where less is more. And that’s why I decided to give the photofacial a try.
Guys! It was awesome! Well, I will admit I felt a few minor pops, kind of like a little rubber band being snapped against my skin, but not so much that I wanted to jump up and run away. We girls will pay a price for beauty! Oh, and speaking of price, that is the prohibitive part for me. The cost for one treatment usually runs between $450 to $600, and you will need several to achieve the full results. You will see the improvement after your first treatment though, so you will be happier to part with your hard-earned bucks the second time and beyond.
Anyway, back to my experience with photofacia technology. My doctor had me buy some prescription numbing cream, which I applied about 45 minutes before my treatment. That really helps! I don’t think I could stand the pain without the cream. She treated my hands for free without the cream. I’m not sure why she did that, but I was so happy with the results. The pain was not bad at all, but I did enjoy not feeling those sensations on my nicely numb face.
I was taken into a comfy room, told to make myself comfortable on a really soft table/bed, and covered with warm blanket. To protect my eyes, I was given some dark goggles and just closed my eyes. After she did a few preliminary zaps to get the right level, the doctor proceeded to treat my entire face with a series of light pulses. It was over before I knew it, and I then received the most relaxing process of cleaning my face and applying sun cream. They told me that I might be a little pink or even red for a while, but that I could just cover it up with makeup and go about my day.
Over the next week, the dark spots rose to the surface and sloughed off. I had to keep hem covered with makeup – but at the end of my photofacial technology treatments, my skin was unbelievably free of red or dark spots. As an added bonus, my husband even noticed that my skin looked younger and tighter! That means it was really noticeable, because he see me through rose-colored glasses. 🙂
If you watch Groupon, you can usually get a photofacial at a discount, or watch your favorite med spa for specials. I got mine half-off by watching for those specials. I think it’s time to do it again! When I do, I will give you an updated photofacial technology review!
Happy beautiful life!
